Aiming High, Manufacturing for the Future | TCB Bearing’s Phase II Project Groundbreaking Ceremony Held

A new chapter in industrial expansion began on the morning of March 28, when TCB Bearing Manufacturing Co., Ltd. held the groundbreaking ceremony for its precision bearing capacity expansion and efficiency upgrading technical renovation project — the Phase II industrial plant — in the Torch High-tech Industrial Development Zone, Zhongshan, Guangdong. Lin Weiqiang, Director of the Zhongshan Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology; Xiao Yidong, Member of the Party Working Committee and Deputy Director of the Management Committee of the Torch zone; Zhang Jinhua, Director of the Zhongshan Port Subdistrict People’s Congress Working Committee; Li Zheng, Member of the Zhongshan Port Subdistrict Party Working Committee; senior representatives of the Torch State-owned Assets Group; and TCB’s management team and employee representatives attended the ceremony. Together they turned the first shovels of earth for the project, marking a moment that carries the company’s manufacturing heritage and its vision for industrial upgrading.

Fifty-Eight Years of Manufacturing, Rooted in Torch

From 1968 to 2026: a single focus on core components for high-end equipment

Cultivated from within the Torch zone and grown into a benchmark manufacturer, TCB Bearing traces its origins to 1968 and formally settled in the Torch High-tech Industrial Development Zone in 2005. Across fifty-eight years, the company has stayed on one track — core components for high-end equipment — and specialised in R&D and manufacturing of precision bearings. It has become an undisputed leader in China’s bearing industry.

The company hosts a National Demonstration Studio for Model Workers and Craftsmen Innovation and a Guangdong Provincial Engineering Technology Research Centre for Special Bearings. It is a national high-tech enterprise and a Guangdong “specialised and sophisticated” enterprise, and serves as a member unit of the National Rolling Bearing Standardisation Technical Committee and president unit of the Guangdong Bearing Industry Association. To date, TCB has led the formulation of 16 national standards and holds 30 invention patents and 63 utility model patents, with several in-house R&D projects included in the major science and technology programmes of Guangdong province and Zhongshan city. Its products supply well-known machinery manufacturers in Germany, Switzerland and the United States, achieving import substitution in critical fields and finding wide application in precision CNC machine tools, high-end passenger elevators and low-noise motors. The company is a mainstay of the Torch zone’s high-quality real-economy development.

Expansion Anchored to a New High, Empowering the Cluster

A new five-storey plant to support 250,000 sets of high-grade precision CNC machine tool bearings a year

The Phase II project is at once TCB’s core layout for industrial upgrading and capacity expansion, a concrete outcome of the Torch State-owned Assets Group’s service to local manufacturers, and a vivid demonstration of the Torch zone’s drive toward high-end, intelligent and green manufacturing.

The project sits in the core area of the Torch zone, east of Yixian Road and south of Qimin South Road, with direct access to the expressway network of the Shenzhen–Zhongshan Link — a decisive transport advantage. The plan calls for demolishing the old plant buildings and erecting a new five-storey industrial building. Once complete, it will support annual output of 250,000 sets of high-grade precision CNC machine tool bearings. The project will proceed in parallel with the renovation and expansion of the existing plant and a full-process digital transformation, using high and new technology to empower traditional manufacturing and to scale up innovation outcomes quickly.

At full production, the project will further release capacity and strengthen R&D capability. It will markedly raise TCB’s core competitiveness, helping the company claim a position in the global high-end bearing industry, while injecting new momentum into the Torch zone’s high-end equipment manufacturing cluster and consolidating the foundation of the real economy.

A State-owned Platform, Full-cycle Support

Torch State-owned Assets Group assembles a dedicated team to escort the project to the ground

As a state-owned “capital operation plus industrial development” platform at district level in the Torch zone, the Torch State-owned Assets Group has stayed true to its mission of serving the real economy, making service to quality local manufacturers and delivery of key industrial projects its core work.

For the TCB Phase II project, the Group moved early and proactively, assembling a dedicated service team and acting as a “gold-medal service provider.” Through full-process, full-cycle support it efficiently advanced the review of planning and design, land-use security and approval-process coordination, and worked to remove every bottleneck — providing comprehensive assurance for the project’s smooth groundbreaking.

Going forward, the Group will continue to draw on regional resources and its state-owned platform advantages, refine the business environment and improve service efficiency, and provide full-dimensional support for the company’s production and operations, industrial-chain collaboration, innovation, upgrading and project construction. Its aim is to help the manufacturer take root in Torch, go deep in the Greater Bay Area and reach the world, contributing state-owned capital to the Torch zone’s push to become a leading area for high-quality development in the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area.
